I bought a computer from ACER 2 months ago and am trying to install a serial expansion card in one of the PCI Express x1 slots. When I try to start the computer after installing the expansion, when it comes to the onboard PCI Express x1 card (and 4-pin cable connection), the computer stays on the ACER page, freezes and does not reach Windows 8 When I remove the expansion card, the laptop boots up normally. I know the plastic card expansion is incompatible with this person, and wanted to know if the partner knows a serial business card expansion model that is compatible with my ACER computer. Please note that the BIOS connected to the computer is outdated and still not working.
