    If your Acronis product reports that it cannot find hard drives here on Windows, the problem is most likely due to third-party software blocking access to nearly impossible hard drives

    (!) If the problem occurs with Acronis Bootable Media, see Acronis Bootable Media does not recognize hard disk, RAID or network card.

    (!) If the problem is found on a Windows 2000 machine, make sure to restart it after installing the Acronis product. Windows 2000 definitely requires a reboot for the product to function properly.

    (!) If you are looking for information on NAS backup, read:

    Or AcronisBackup & Recovery Disk Management will detect the primary problematic disk as Super Disk or Unsupported:

    Reason

    The most likely reason is that the problematic hard drive does not have a valid MBR or third-party software is blocking access to the hard drive.

    Solution

    (!) Acronis Disk Director 11 Home, Acronis Disk Director 11 and Acronis True Image Home Plus Extended Pack support GPT hard disks.

    If you are using Acronis Image true or Acronis Backup & Recovery, check if disks with file / folder backups (or My Data in Acronis Image true Home 2010 or File Homebrew in Acronis Image true Home 2011) are compared with the approach. full disk / partition backup (or workstation in Acronis Image true Home 2010 or disk and partition backup in comparison with Acronis Image true Home 2011).

    • If the hard disk is not recognized in full disk / partition or file / folder backup in write mode
    • If disks are found in minor mode but not in disk / partition minor mode

    If hard drives are not recognized in Advanced Disk / Partition Backup mode or in file / folder backup mode in backup mode, check the following:

    1. Generally, if you have installed backup software other than Acronis, try temporarily disabling it. See if this solves your specific problem. Also check the compatibility of Acronis with HP backup and recovery products;
    2. If you have antivirus software, try disabling it temporarily. See if the problem is resolved;
    3. Download and install the Acronis Switch update:
      • Acronis Backup (Advanced) 11.5: Query from Acronis Client Center
      • Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5: SnapAPI 2140 (SnapAPI 1204 for Windows 2000)

    (!) You must restart our computer to complete the installation.

    If you normally use Acronis Backup & Recovery, you will probably bypass the reboot requirement by precisely restarting the serviceAcronis Managed Machine:

    Acronis Backup and Restore: restart the Acronis Managed Machine Service:

    If disks are usually recognized using a file / folder backup approach and the disks contain only one personal partition that fills the entire hard disk (this is shown in Disk Management via Start-Run -> diskmgmt.msc), then these Symptoms indicate that drives may not contain a true MBR (which is often the case with newer drives formatted by the CD or DVD manufacturer) and are therefore not supported. Support for such non-MBR disks is in preparation for future releases. The solution is to reset disks from scratch and make sure they have the best MBR built on them:

    (!) Please note that all data on such a hard drive must be moved to another location outside of this drive, as our next steps will erase all data files from this hard drive.

    • Enter and start execution in cmd
    • Command line parameter in diskpart
    • Run the following commands:

      List of hard drives

      -> Find the number of the problematic disk (let’s say the hard disk is disk 1).

      Select disk 1

      -> this will even select disk 1 as the target and diskpart will do future operations on that disk.
