The software contains four mechanisms for creating and manipulating geometry: its own geometric kernel, which is the head of the base package, and this time a CAD import module for directly importing CAD geometry, although the name suggests. The earlier kernel allows users to create their own geometry in a multiphysics package.

Geometry core, which is responsible for creating geometry in COMSOL Multiphysics® software. You may be wondering what this means, or information on how and why you will use it for modeling all the time. Let’s figure it out.

    Geometry Throughout The Process

Creating a simulation or importing geometry is usually the first step in the simulation process in COMSOL Multiphysics. Depending on the purpose of our simulation, the geometry of the box can be a realistic or idealized representation of the device.

    cad import module kernel

There are several ways to create geometry. For example, we draw shapes on the work plane and extrude them, or we can create a suitable solid object and combine it with many solid objects to get the final composition. In some cases, the device we design consists of several parts. To automatically apply different material settings, our organization would have to draw these parts whenever they split solid objects.

    cad import module kernel

For example, a CAD file imported from Geometerai, it is often necessary to correct or simplify by removing small or inappropriate parts. In COMSOL® software, we draw new shapes to add to imported obstacles. Regardless of how we create the actual geometry, we can always go back and repeat the various operations (which are collected in a geometric sequence under the Geometry node in the model builder). We

Now that we’ve created the geometry type, we can move on to defining all physics, including material and boundary parameters, and then mesh the geometry. If necessary, I can go back to redesigning, in which case the physical settings are actually saved in domains and boundaries when I originally selected them. Decide before helping build the finite element mesh that should give a reasonable approximation to the geometry. Finally, we evaluate the sim results by applying them to geometry.

The COMSOL Mathematician Behind The Scenes

In Multiphysics, the geometric kernel is simply software component that ensures the correct operation of all of the above functions. The kernel keeps track of a person’s mathematical representations of geometric objects that we draw or sometimes import. It has functions and rules that create these objects and the interactions that bind them, such as joins or intersections. Also, is there a portion of the geometric kernel that ensures that the geometry as a whole is associative? that is, we can change it without having to reapply the physical settings. In addition, the kernel type can also provide information about its geometry for other software components, such as calculating projections or surface curvatures, to find a mesh generator.

Not One Two, But Geometric Kernels

Geometric kernels can be customized for non-standard tasks. To ensure the best recording quality, COMSOL Multiphysics offers not one, but multiple cores. It contains the core comsol, the type of which works best with geometry created in the type of software. The CAD import module is usedi to handle imported CAD geometry; design module; LiveLink ™ for CAD products, which you can see in the COMSOL® software suite, contains a special geometry engine, the Parasolid® engine (called the CAD engine in the user interface).

Parasolid® Core offers repair services for imported CAD projects. It will also include features to simplify the most common geometry, such as removing fillets or holes. However, this is not only about the repair and destruction of imported products. The Parasolid® engine also supports the geometric modeling functions included in the design module, such as creating surfaces, applying convex fillets and chamfers to 3D objects, sending the average area of solids, and fusing materials on surfaces to achieve superior quality. Finally, the Parasolid® kernel also implements general geometric operations. This means that we can also use this kernel to create and enhance geometry, including imported CAD objects.

    Geometric Kernel Selection

When we install Multiphysics® COMSOL, when it’s a license that includes a CAD importer, a design module, or one of the LiveLink ™ CAD products, the Parasolid® engine starts sort of bringing the new model up to standard. However, we can easily change this setting in the Preferences window.

    cad import module kernel

To secure and modify the geometry core in the model component after you start modeling my spouse and me, you can click the Geometry node in the Model Builder to access this Geometry Options window.

By changing the geometry representation in the parameters, we can determine which core is processing geometry in our own component of the current model. To change the kernel, it is required to reconstruct the geometrical sequence of the past, using the kernel to which we went along the way. If we change the kernel in a model number that already contains solutions, you can minimize the model resolution by clickingThe Update Solution button on the exploration toolbar to link solutions to the recovered geometry.

A geometric sequence cannot be recreated with the entire COMSOL engine if it contains business operations that are only available in the CAD engine. These operations include operations that can be found on the Geometry toolbar under Delete and Repair; import (if the delivered file has a supported format, as well as a CAD import module); and the smoothing, mid-surface, thickening, chamfering, and rounding operations required by the design module. In these positions, we can transform object geometry that can be used with the COMSOL® engine, as described below.

When we import geometry from a CAD file, we often train it to analyze using the services and deactivation operations available in the CAD importer kernel. While a CAD import module is required to open a specific container model, such as a geometric sequence, this is a simple two-step A process for saving geometry in a COMSOL Multiphysics project (.mphbin or .mphtxt). First, we replace the damaged geometry with COMSOL files. The transformation to COMSOL can be found in the Operation Transformations section of the Geometry Alexa plug-in, as shown below.

Second, we have converted foreign geometries into COMSOL Multiphysics format.
