Windows Firewall acts as the first layer of defense against malware So it’s always a good idea to keep it turned on unless you’re using third-party firewall software. If, for some unknown reason, you suspect that your Windows Firewall is not fully starting at startup, here are a few troubleshooting steps you should look out for.

    • Windows Firewall is not a firewall
    • Windows Firewall will not start
    • Windows could not start in Windows Firewall

If Windows Firewall does not start, you may experience the following errors on your Windows system:

    1. The Windows Firewall service terminated with an error specific to the eighty-seven service (0x57).
    2. Error 0x80004015: The class is configured to act as the SID of the current caller. …
    3. The Windows Firewall service was terminated due to service error 6801 (0x1A91).

    4. Check the status of the driver associated with the firewall
    5. Run the Group Policy Results Tool.
    6. Run the Windows Firewall Troubleshooter.
    7. Reset Windows Firewall.

    1] Check For Malware

Start by scanning your tools for malware with a good antivirus system. If you have installed a third-party computer or firewall, most of them can also be the cause of this particular issue. Often times, third-party security software will disable Windows Firewall and even prevent it from starting.

    2] Start SFC Then DISM

Why can’t I open Windows Firewall?

Right-click on the Windows taskbar and simply select Task Manager, then click Details if it appears. In the Task Manager window, go to the Services tab and then click Open Services at the bottom. In the window that opens, highlight Windows Firewall by double-clicking it. Then click OK to restart your computer and update your firewall.

Run System File Checker or sfc / scannow. You can also run DISM and see if that helps.

3] Check The Status Of Firewall Services

Then enter services. In msc Windows, start searching and press Enter to open Services. Make sure the Windows service firewall is running and set to automatic. To do this, study the “Start” button. Also, make sure that your RPC service and this underlying filtering engine service are running and not set to automatic mode. Check

4] Driver Status Related To Firewall

Now you also need to make sure that the Windows Firewall Master Authorization Driver (mdsdrv.sys) is working properly.
