Recently, some of our readers have encountered an error code where Windows service error 0 cannot be generated. Several factors can cause this problem. Let’s discuss some of them below.

Long post, I know. I did spend hours discussing some of my observations to save time. By the way, Win XP Service Pack 2 installs MySQL 5.1.31 MSI. It looks like the non-MSI MySQL 4.1 installer will not have this issue.
(If necessary, do a DOWNLOAD and BACKUP with data files / directories. Is this a complete reinstallation?)
My solution was to make sure you get rid of all the data to submit your profile form. To keep you safe
– Remove the instance (including the server) using the Instance Configuration Wizard (located in C: Program Files MySQL My SQL Server 5.1 bin MySQLInstanceConfig.exe) by selecting Remove. Now
– Uninstall MySQL directly from Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs, you may need to refresh the list with F5 if it is not there.
– make absolut dir mysql in C: Program Files completely removed. There may be old data files lying around.
– Important *, * especially make sure all MySQL directories that appear in the following directories are removed. Mine are not hidden, but they are worth checking out too:
= AND c: Document Options All Users Yes Other applications
= And c: Documents Settings
– New installation of MSI
– Do not use the install path for data. It still works and I cannot find my data file. Use something else like C: Program Files MySQL Data.
1. This message only appears after someone has installed an older version of mySQL.
2. Removing the service itself works “sc MySQL” removing or removing the service did not work for me. Better to run the Instance Installation Wizard again IMHO and still select the “Uninstall” option. It’s cleaner.
3. If you received three fields instead of 2 when setting computer passwords, then you did not delete the website properly. Use the setup wizard and test application combined profiles.
4. Some recommend the following. In my opinion, this did not affect (in fact, it was application data, not more), but they could have an effective impact on other installations and systems.
– Close the firewall or open the standard MySQL port.
– Manually delete the MySQL registry entries (this can be risky if you don’t know what you are doing and will definitely slow downreboots it)
– Delete old data files.
– Remove old my.ini files (for example, check As c: windows as well as MySQL directories)
(For me all data and only my.ini files were deleted / manually from C: Program Files MySQL)

Occurrence: This happens when the MySQL database used by Zed Axis EDI quickly and easily stops injecting when running the MySQL Configuration Wizard while trying to create a window service, a combination appears and the installation does not always continue. Config
Reason: The wizard is trying to install a maintenance plan and finds an existing service with a new name with the same name, such as MySQL. This can happen if you already have an installation related to MySQL installed on your computer.
Solution. Finish the MySQL installation, open Windows Task Manager (CTRL + ALT + DEL), select the Services tab and select the service named MySQL, right clicknd click and select the option to stop the service. Restart the MySQL installation process.
