i Cisco ACS server developed in a virtual environment – V-Sphere.

ACS is used for RADIUS authentication of wireless and VPN users. Also, it is used to authenticate Netork administrators who log in to make sure their routers, switches, etc. are TACACS.
ACS interacts with the Active Directory collection for authenticationand users.

Often, maybe every 3 months, people fail to authenticate properly. I go to all ACS GUI pages and do an online connectivity test using AD. It does not work and confirms that there is a clock offset error. Then I need to manually change the clock for each SSH ACS and then automatically. The funny thing is, the ACS timer needs to be about 1 hour 10 minutes behind the domain controller as a link between ACS and AD for them to work successfully. When I set the optimum time for ACS, the link to the website doesn’t actually work – clock offset error.

does anyone know a solution for this? can anyone have seen this before?

This is even more shocking because even though all my NAS gadgets like wireless hotspots, VPN concentrator, etc. always see these ACSs. Hence, the secondary authentication server will probably never try to authenticate, and the user simply won’t be able to authenticate due to a failed clock change.

The quick fix is to disable ACS and then useUse Secondary Internet Authentication. However, this is definitely a workaround and I would prefer a more complete solution.
