The K-Lite Codec Pack distinguishes four different packs. From a very small packet containing only the most important decoders to quite a large one о and an extensive package. These codec packs are compatible with Windows Vista / 7/8 / 8.1 / 10. Older versions are also compatible with XP.
Packages contain both 32-bit and 64-bit codecs, so they work fine with almost all x86 and x64 flavors of Windows!

- Some ACM / VFW codecs like x264VFW and This Lagarith-Type are used by some video editing / encoding applications to work with mp3 AVI. For example VirtualDub.
These codecs are never used or needed forvideo playback.
Important note: The K-Lite codec pack expands the import capabilities of professional video editors such as Vegas Movie Studio or. not at all, if not Adobe Premiere. These applications often only allow a small group of file units to be imported and do not support the use of the codec variants contained in the entire codec pack (DirectShow / VFW). Modern publishers often only use their own internal codecs, or support external codecs such as the Media Foundation.
And some additional optional DirectShow filters:

They are only included for a very small group of people who have a reason to use them. We are insistent we recommend that you use the standard decoders from this package. It is better. Note:
is important. All of these additional features included with Mega are only useful for a small group of people. It does not allow playback of additional audio or video formats. If you are only interested in reading, the full version is sufficient.
