You don’t need instmsia.exe. The MIS Runtime is included in XP.
An error message means that the new action in your configuration failed. The log file can tell you what action to take. Only Symantec will know what the action is, why it might fail, and how to fix it. If you already had other antivirus software or older
products on your computer, make sure they were removed correctly. Symantec (and possibly other
manufacturers) is cleaning the tool to make sure there are no residues.

But Symantec is keen to know what the action is doing, why it fails, and how to fix information technology. If you had other antivirus web interfaces on your computer or in previous Symantec products, make sure they were all removed correctly. Symantec (and possibly other manufacturers too) offer cleaning that helps with tools to make sure there are no residues left.
