How to allocate the same amount of memory in Java?

This is the solution you must eat: it is fixed in Java 1.6.0_23 and above. Runtime.getRuntime (). Exec allocates the same amount of memory for a particular process as for the main process. When running Fisheye Git, it uses my fork system call, which temporarily allocates the same amount of memory to the Git process as my Fisheye JVM. The Git process never actually uses memory, but the system call fails if the operating system cannot provide it.

Resolution

You can try to allow Linux to overwrite storage devices with the command ‘echo> first / proc / sys / vm / overcommit_memory’, but there may be a bettere improve the allocated paging space. In general, you should reduce the heap value to what Fisheye really needs. Increasing it will only exacerbate this obstacle.
