Symptoms

A computer running Windows 10, version 1803 may experience logon and logoff delays when using the background of a roaming user. You will also receive the following error messages:

Your roaming profile is not fully synced. Check the event log or information about the interop administrator. “

Reason

This issue occurs because changes have been made in Windows 10, version 1803, accidentally enabled folders that are usually not allowed to work are synchronized by roaming users when they log on or log off.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following replacement for Windows 10, version 1803:

To resolve this issue, you can copy the ExcludeProfileDirs registry key from Windows 10 type 1709 PCs to laptops or 1803 PCs that are experiencing the issue. Full method for getting the registry key:

Reason for roaming profile synchronization and connection / disconnect delays

This issue occurs when a change occurs that synchronizes folders that are normally excluded from roaming by roaming user profiles when someone logs in or out.

Fixed Bugs During Profile Synchronization And Connection / Disconnection Delays

To resolve this issue, it is recommended that you upgrade to the latest version of Windows via Windows Update, or upgrade using a Windows ISO.

You can also work around the problem by doing one of the following.

1] Export and import of PC registry key ExcludeProfileDirs

You can export the ExcludeProfileDirs registry body from a computing device running Windows 10, version 1909, and then import a registry key to import the older computers that are experiencing the problem. Here’s how it works:

On all ten computersFor Windows version 1909, press Windows Critical + R. In the Run dialog box, type square, press regedit, and then press Enter to open Registry Editor.

HKCU> SOFTWARE> Microsoft Windows> NT> Current version> Winlogon> ExcludeProfileDirs

When you are in the above location, select “File” from the menu bar and click “Export”.

Enter a name for the file, a place to retreat – preferably a USB stick.

Alternatively, someone could copy the .reg file you sold over USB to their computer desktop and double-click the file to merge it into the registry.

2] Exclude roaming AppData directory from profile

As noted in the release log above, the entries point to the AppData folder. Therefore, you can work around this problem by excluding this folder from the roaming profile. You can do this with Group Policy.

User Configuration> Administration> Theme or Template System> User Profiles

On the right, double-click “Exclude directories in habitat from roaming profile” to change its propertiesa.

In the appdata currently enter disallow moving the following directories with a profile field.

Close the Local Group Policy Editor. You should now be able to use the roaming profile most of the time without timing errors and I / O delays.
