    Welcome to Toms Hardware, aero2017!

Sorry to hear about a problem with the WD custom hard drive. :( However, I recommend that you use one of the tricks listed here to solve the BIOS reset problem: http://www.wikihow.com/Reset-Your-BIOS
I would also go to your PC / motherboard manufacturer’s website and make sure your model has the latest BIOS. An outdated SATA chipset or driver could also be the cause.p control. Anyway, I would recommend enabling SMART for your hard drives from BIOS. If any errors occur on the hard drive, the system should notify you.

Have you really tried connecting your new hard drive to another PC to test if it works? Otherwise, I recommend that you do it. You can also try running the WD Data LifeGuard Diagnostics window to check hard drive health and SMART status: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=mpTfhD

Hope this situation helps. Let me know.
