I discovered something else last night in the middle of this phase. I lost my active PC desktop, believing it was due to the same ATI driver issue, thinking everything was fine. Apparently this could be due to an issue – when I clicked “Restore my active desktop” I got the following error message:

I performed a registry fix and used the following script to improve my registry settings:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER = & H80000001
strComputer implies “.”
Install objReg = GetObject (“winmgmts: ” & & strComputer ” root default: StdRegProv”)
strKeyPath equals “Software Microsoft Internet Explorer Desktop SafeMode Components”

objReg.SetDWORDValue HKEY_CURRENT_USER, strKeyPath, ValueName, strValue copied

I saved most of the above script in Notepad and saved it as activedesktop.vbs (no quotes). I ran the document, and before I could log out, my active desktop was back to normal.

After some research, I found out that this problem occurs in Internet Explorer 7. This crisis has been discussed on the Microsoft website and in several other forums. I forgot hthen allowed MS to enter my computer due to IE7 (although I must admit I like some of the improvements).

Interestingly, I only run for about two hours (one hour yesterday morning and another hour this morning). However, I’m not sure if this is due to the ati2dvag.dll error. The crash was clearly random, I think I’ll find out soon (and will log everything I do every 15 seconds!).

I always want the latest driver for the ATI display to work, I absolutely do my best to load it properly.

I currently have Windows XP Home Ed with an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, and a few seconds after logging in, I get a stunning blue screen indicating that there was an error in ati2dvag.dll. It looks to me like it’s written like a Linux bootable CD because I can’t get the drivers for Windows to load.

I have tried using the Windows Recovery Installer but with no success. Is there a way to fix this?

I tried 0x by running the Pre-Boot System Assessment (PSA) diagnostics and checking if it was a problem with your graphics card by pressing the F12 key on the Windows screen. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the graphics card drivers to fix the problem, but ab Absolutely not use them.

The main problem is the ATI X 1300, which has infinite image looping and blue screen.

I have a Lat d600 with a large Radeon 9000 card. Every time I start, a blue screen pops up and says a .dll file. I see that others have exactly the same problems with these drivers. Has anyone really solved your problem? I am using Windows 2003. What configuration, f8, does not write to external monitor. It might seem like it should be an ATI driver! !! Any comments or corrections will be greatly appreciated.

This guy wants me to meet him online to download a driver similar to him and then write it to a floppy disk so I can install it on all Dell devices, but I’m not sure if I need to ship it back and they’ll ask me to send all the other computers that paid too much money to make this all happen
