How do I connect my HP Jetdirect printer?
The HP Jetdirect 300x connects another printer to the local area network. The print server allows workstations on your current local network to remotely access the printer and send requests; a Jetdirect facilitator acts as an intermediary between the printer and just computers, which deliver print jobs to the actual printer when needed. To use Jetdirect on a Mac OS X printer, find the IP address of the print server, then simply install the machine usingI have the function “Print and Scan”. Since only one device can include the 300x, OS X usually needs to immediately recognize the printer queue name.

Click on the attached printer to allow the JetDirect 300x to toggle between these available options. Go to the Information, Test, or PCL Test menu.

Change the protocol to “HP Jetdirect – Socket”. Leave the Queue field blank.
Enter a detailed label for the printer in the Name field, and then enter the location of the new printer in the Location field.

Select your printer model from the Use drop-down menu, or click Select Printer Software as usual to select your product model from the list.
Click Add to install the printer and use your computer. Select your printer settings from the options, then click OK.
