I have installed Internet Explorer 10 and every time I click on the email confrontation link (mailto) I get an error that says the mail client is not configured correctly.when i click close. Click OK, where it looks like a tornado opening IE windows. is carefully configured and mailto is configured for the mail program. I didn’t have these issues until IE 10 (which I might wish for some of the functionality in SharePoint 2013), but the only solution I found was to go back to IE 9, which is not a solution for me. Guys
Where do I find mailto in my browser?

Why is my mailto link not working Windows 10?
I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and these mailto: links no longer work. Launching Take on Life 2013. When I visit a website with live email, new Outlook messages do not open. I tried to check the default programs to make sure Outlook is set as default for mailto:. This feature worked great with my Windows 8.1. Can anyone advise me?
If this is not possible, do the following:
Recover missing the current string value
Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe.
Access all of the following branches:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Software Classes mailto
Why mailto is not working in HTML?
If inbound mailto links don’t open the way these companies should, a quick glance at your computer or browser settings is enough. On Windows, go to Settings -> Apps -> Default Apps. If you really want Chrome and Gmail to open Mailto URLs for you by default, make sure Google Chrome is selected as the default end user on both operating systems.

Why is mailto bad?
Whether you are posting your email address on your website or entering an email address using a mailto link – or both – making it visible is a bad idea. You will likely receive spam anyway, but you will still receive a lot more spam if your email address can be obtained by bots scanning the main web for email addresses.
When you click the mailto link on the Google webpage, you answer yes when the Chrome browser asks if it wants to launch Gmail when it just clicks the mailto link.
