VirusBuster Ltd. was one of the few Hungarian computer security software providers. The all-Hungarian company develops software for the Hungarian and international target market under the same VirusBuster brand to protect users’ computers from malware training programs and various other computer security threats. In August 2012, VirusBuster Ltd. announced the discontinuation of its antivirus products. After the apparent closure of VirusBuster, the entire development group joined Sophos botting and analyzing malware.

History

The legal situation and the change of the predecessor began in the late 1980s with the production of antiviral products. Its software called “Virsec” was released at the same time as other well-known manufacturers with similar products appeared. In 1992 Virsec was renamed “VirusBuster” on the market. When your business was later officially founded, that name also became the name created by the business.

In 1997, VirusBuster Ltd. was duly substantiated. In the following years, the company produced antivirus products only for the Hungarian market, usually for the public sector. 2000 is the year of international openness. VirusBuster products usually began participating in international testing in the summer of that year, and Clay itself also began developing international partnerships in 2000. Between 2000 and 2004, VirusBuster has steadily expanded its portfolio. The projects manifested themselves in an increase in the number of platforms and guaranteed systems, as well as in new partial security products to combat new threats, as well asthe same in the company’s security product management system. Through all of these results, the company was able to deliver effective security offerings to all corporate customers. 2001 was actually the first year that a foreigner – an Australian pixie – allowed VirusBuster antivirus technology to be incorporated into dog protection products.

Between 2003 and VirusBuster, 2006 strengthened its advertising positions in Eastern Europe and around the world. Antivirus, the agency’s driving force, has become an independent product and thus has been integrated into the solutions of several other companies. During these years, VirusBuster appeared on the American market.

In August this year, agnitum, PC security expert and Outpost security expert, announced the acquisition of industry and IT infrastructure antivirus software from longtime partner VirusBuster.

In 2012, the owner of VirusBuster made a decision to stop using certain programs and services. The entire Usage and Malware Analysis team reached out to Sophos.

Products

VirusBuster is unique and provides multi-layered antivirus solutions for groups of customers only – individuals, individuals, and businesses of all sizes. The company’s security products cover all major operating systems, including both workstations, not to mention server platforms.
According to independent international IT experts and ^[who?] test labs, the company’s products have found very good solutions, both in terms of speed and efficiency. Name Abuse

In early 2008, security researchers at VirusBuster discovered computer spyware that used a company-created name to trick users. The worm spread as an attachment and in infected emails under the name “virusbuster.personal.v3.20.regfile.by.arcade.exe”. Analyzing and classifying malware was not too difficult, since the worm was at the time a variation of the most famous and oldest spyware and bugle family.
This is not the first example of abuse; name VirusBurst in 2006 was a bogus anti-spyware program. Her name was similar to VirusBusters – probably an unexpected name, but in this case the resemblance was perfect.
Also in 2008 FraczVirus writers 29A announced their closure, and prominent member group 29A also used the pseudonym “VirusBuster”.
