How Can I Fix The 0040 Kernel Time Discipline State?

In the past week, some readers have encountered an error code with kernel timediscipline status 0040. There may be several reasons for this problem. Let’s look at them now.

Documentation for the stable version comes with NTP and is in the archive
    http://doc.ntp.org /

Documentation on behalf of the NTP development tree added from
    http: / /www.ntp.org / documentation .html and from http://doc.ntp.org/

At the core are the header files that are distributed with your personal operating system. On Linux, they seem to be in /usr/include/sys/timex.h.

This is debug-level text indicating that sigaction () said that the ntpd
13 signal was set very little, so the code is not entirely clear. This code has been updated in the latest version of ntpd to better understand current and common bits. If anyone sees that all messages of type messages were logged with the latest perfect version of
ntpd (possibly with a hexadecimal value other than
400000), please file a bug at https://bugs.ntp.org/ and grep
. h from your systems to SA_ and evaluate what is visible to identify the symbolic name
eg SA_RESTART with unknown bit value
. Then we can just use the refresh code to mute my message.

This means that the core loop status has changed slightly.
it’s true timex .h should report toam a symbolic name that you might
then try to interpret it, I suggest you consider it noise .current
ntpd does this and no longer registers “ke” rnel Disciplinary status instantly Change “
    .

Timex.h I commented out, although the comments are quite dense, so some links are made for interpretation.

What can you say about this message anywhere on the message screen?

    1-
    ntpd: successful start of ntpd
    ntpd [19428]: signal_no_reset: 13 flags found 4000000
    ntpd [19428]: precision = 11 μs

    ntpd [19428]: run for uid (38) / gid (38) euid (38) / egid (38)

    2-
    ntpd [19428]: set time 0.000051 s
    ntpd [19428]: synchronization lost
ntpd [19428]: change of state of temporal discipline of kernel 1

What sources have status 1 and 0040! ?
Where can I find the relevant document?

A link to NTP development documentation is in
and comes with http: // doc ntp.org/

In the kernel header documents distributed with your operating system. On Linux, they are probably in /usr/include/sys/timex.h.

This is a debug-level message indicating that sigaction () was telling ntpd
Signal 13 a value that the code does not understand. This
code has been updated in ntpd to better understand the commonly used
bits. If anyone sees this miscellaneous message logged due to the recent presence of
ntpd (possibly with a hexadecimal value other than
400000), be sure to submit a bug report to https://bugs.ntp.org/ like grep
.h your system files for Rate SA_ and what you see to denote the symbolic name
as SA_RESTART associated with the unacknowledged
bit. We can then update the code to strip the message.

This means that the published state of qiThe kernel has changed a lot. While
is correct, timex.h should symbolically enlighten you about a name that anyone can then try to interpret, but I would advise the client to consider it noise.
Current ntpd no longer logs messages like “Kernel Time Discipline History Change”
    .

The file timex.h Have i commented out although observations are quite rare
so some of the interpretation has undoubtedly been made.
