You may encounter an error message stating that my USB drive has stopped working. As it turns out, there are several steps you can take to fix this problem, and we will do so shortly.

Check Device Coordinator (Windows). There are two things you will probably only do with Device Manager in Windows to get the USB ports working again. Verify hardware changes by right-clicking your computer’s listing and selecting Verify hardware changes. Another option is to unplug and re-enable the USB controller.
You
If you connect and disconnect the USB device relatively quickly and multiple times, the USB port may stop responding. If the port is owned by that government, it will no longer recognize the USB tablet and the USB device will work instead.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps in the order in which they should be listed. After each method, check your USB device to see if the issue is resolved as well. If the problem is not clear, try the next method.
This article also provides a workaround that you can try if these methods don’t work.
Use Device Manager to check for hardware changes. Once your computer has verified the hardware changes, keep in mind that it can recognize the USB that the device normally plugs into via the USB port, which is why experts say you can use the device.
Note. If you are using Windows Vista, click “Pstart, and then use the Start Search box.
If a new hardware scanner does not resolve the issue, try restarting your computer. After restarting the technology, check the USB method to make sure it works.
If restoring your computer fixed the problem, you may be finished. If this method doesn’t solve the problem, go to method 3.
Use Device Manager to disable and re-enable all regular USB controllers. This allows the controllers to restore the USB port from an unresponsive state. USB controllers are USB ports in Device Manager. If you are familiar with more than advanced troubleshooting, see “ Workaround for details.
Note. If you are using Windows Vista, press Start with your finger and then use the Start Search box.

If our USB port recognizes the device and you can use it, you’re done.
If this method fixed the problem, you’re done. If this method does not resolve the issue, read the entire Workaround section.
If none of these methods worked for you, try disabling the selective suspend feature. However, keep in mind that every time you turn off the selective suspend feature, the system affects virtually all USB host controller drivers (and therefore virtually all USB ports and connected USB devices). Consequently, your own computers cannot turn off USB devices that may be connected to them, and USB devices can continue to use power while they are connected to the computer. In addition, the Allow all computers to turn off this power saver check box on the Power Management tab for someone’s USB root hub is not violated.
You can disable USB Selective Suspend as a workaround by simply editing the registry. The device’s USB drive will no longer respond due to racial illness in the Selective Suspend feature. Select functionLong-term suspend easily suspends the USB device to conserve battery power, allowing all computers to shut down the USB process. However, sometimes this function cannot wake up the USB device properly. Thus, the actual USB device will not respond when you try to use it.
You can use this shutdown feature on server products when power management is not important or required. This
This key, method, or task section contains instructions for improving the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, be sure to follow these steps carefully. To be on the safe side, back up the registry before making any changes to it. Then you can restore the registry if any circumstances arise. For more information about how to actually back up and restore your registry, click the following article number to view each article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
Note. If you are using Windows Vista, click Start, and then use the Start Search box.
This issue can occur due to a sync issue that prevents the computer from recognizing the USB device.
Microsoft and the manufacturers of the chips used for USB have investigated the issue. However, due to the temporary nature of the problem, the results were inconclusive.
