Nonpaged Pool

The kernel device, and therefore the drivers, use the nonpaged pool to store disk, which may not be able to handle page faults when accessed. When the main kernel interrupts service procedures (ISRs) and deferred procedure calls (DPCs) (hardware interrupt related functions), the kernel enters this superlative state.
