If you actually try to view the properties of your Windows 2000 client on a domain controller running Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, you will receive the following error in Server Manager:

Resolution

To resolve this issue, make sure file and printer sharing is enabled for Microsoft networks. To do this, follow these steps:

Just login with administrator credentials.
Double-click My Computer, double-click Control Panel, then double-click Network and Dial-up Connections.
Double-click the network connection you want to change, then click Properties.
On the General tab, under Components Managed by This Connection, find File in addition to Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks. Click Service.
Make sure the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks check box is selected. This setting makes the products sold online.
