Activate Troubleshooting

Add Project Output To Solution Package
You add project output to your deployment using the package designer. However, when you add project output, make sure that the platform of the project is the same as one of the SharePoint solutions. If you are using a SharePoint solution, problems can arise if an item on the server has the same name, URL, or ID in an item in your solution package. You can modify the conflict resolution of your deployment to resolve, report, or ignore conflicts during modules, web parts, list instances, and topic content types.

Viewing a SharePoint page takes a long time when deploying a Visual Web object in a bin folder on Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008. If you change files in a better top-level ASP.NET directory, such as a site in the bin directory, everything will be recompiled web application. Warning Will Be Displayed If Nested Visitor Controls Are Expanded
This warning appears if you are deploying a new SharePoint solution that has nested custom rules, such as a visual web part that contains a custom control, or a custom control that contains a visual web element or other custom control. This happens when you add a control to the designer by dragging and dropping it from the toolbar or using the @Register directive in source mode.
Error Message
Warning item 1 "[Control Name]" is not a known item. This can happen if the website has a receive error or if the web.config file is missing.
Resolution
If the Visual Studio system project doesn't know some of the nested custom controls, it won't be able to deploy IntelliSense and will display a preanticipation. The presentation system does not recognize a nested custom control if the project is not enabled and the designer is not closed and therefore reopened, or if the auto-delete option is still enabled, which will delete the custom control when debugging SharePoint Hive.
