In the past few weeks, some of our users have reported that they are facing Cumulative Update 3 for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 4 (SP4).
Updated
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 hotfixes, typically created for specific SQL Server service packs. You must apply the SQL Server 2005 SP3 hotfix to the installation that is attached to SQL Server 2005 SP3. By default, each hotfix that is provided in a SQL Server SP3 is included in the following SQL Server service.
Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2005 SP3 includes hotfixes for SQL Server 2005 SP3 or other issues that were fixed after SQL Server 2005 SP3 was released
Note. This cumulative build is also recognized as build 9.0.4226.
Extended stored procedures of the managed object must be enabled I SQL Server (SMO) and SQL Server Distributed Management Object (SQL-DMO) extended stored procedures before your organization can apply the Cumulative Update. For important information about

Note. SQL 2005 Server Books Online indicates that all default settings for these stored procedures are typically 0 (disabled). However, this value is inappropriate. The default is (enabled).
Microsoft then provides a supported cumulative update package. However, this should only be correct for the problems described in this article. Apply it mainly to systems that have these obvious problems. This cumulative update package may require additional testing. Therefore, if one of these issues does not seriously affect you, we recommend that you wait until each of our future SQL Server 2005 Service Packs contains the fixes from this Rollup.
