After I ran them in Views on Friday, I booted up last night and after that, before Windows booted up, it started fixing a bunch of them without any intervention from me. At the bottom of the screen it said something about chkdsk C:/r and a nice string of numbers that kept changing. Will the scans I sent in still be useful and should I run them? FARBAR scan logs are gone, nothing in documents or downloads. I had an icon on the desktop “Remote Applications”. Nothing looked like this when I ran the scan. It was actually the proverbial straw, so while I can’t afford it, I ordered a refurbished HP from Walmart, but I want to try and salvage this PC. It’s just an HP 8100 Elite Mini Tower,and my computer and four internal drives have worn out a lot over the past few years. But surrender is not my vocabulary.
