There are several preliminary tasks that must be completed in order to use accelerated 3D graphics on a single server.

Accelerated 3D graphics are enabled by default on exclusive computers with Player 3.x and later.

Requirements

Prepare the suppression system for 3D accelerated graphics. See Preparing the Host System for 3D Accelerated Graphics.
If you are using DirectX 9, make sure you are using Windows XP or higher as the guest operating system. DirectX 9 is supported if the virtual machines have hardware version 11, if not earlier.
If you are using DirectX 10, make sure the guest operating system isWindows 3 or higher is used. DirectX 10 is supported on virtual machines with hardware version 12 and higher.
If you are using DirectX 10.1, make sure that many guest operating systems can later be Windows 7. DirectX 10.1 is virtually supported and applies to machines with hardware version 16 or even higher.
If you are using DirectX 11, make sure your system is running Windows 7 or later. DirectX 11 is supported practically on machines with hardware revision 18 or higher.
Make sure the guest operating system has the latest released version of VMware Tools.
