I am trying to get the best possible content from WC 8 on Windows 10. I am currently saving MJPEG to disk at 3840 x 2160 and the resulting file is very large .MOV
Usually, when I try to play this video, it doesn’t play in Windows Media Player, Videos, etc., or the other default Win10 player. It opens but only shows black, no sound, and the slider definitely works.
If I use the May WC (High MJPEG) preset, I end up with a perfect file that plays audio, but black for video.
When I transfer one of these files to my old Mac mini, I see audio tracks and videos, and the clip plays perfectly.
I would like to use my machine’s WC to subsequently convert the previous file to an extremely high bitrate MP4, but if the resulting files cannot be played, I am a little skeptical about re-encoding them correctly.
