Start Disk Cleanup
Windows includes a built-in tool that in turn removes temporary files and other unimportant data files. To access it, right-click any of someone’s hard drives in the computer window and select Properties.
(Alternatively, you can simply find the drive after cleaning up in the Start menu.)
Select the file types you want to delete and click OK. This includes temporary programs, log files, files in the recycle bin, and other unimportant files.

Reduce main memory for system recovery

If a lot of disk space was used for recovery points during system restore You may exceed the disk space allocated for system recovery. The tradeoff has always been that you have fewer system restore points and fewer previous copies of files to restore. If these features are less important to you than the large storage space they use, free up several gigabytes by reducing the space used by System Restore.
Kernel options
These tips save space, but disable important Windows features. We do not recommend using them if you urgently need free space on your hard drive, they can help:
- Disable Hibernation – When your system goes to sleep, it saves the contents of its RAM to your hard drive. Thus, it can maintain the state of its human body without electricity – the next time you turn on the computer, you will be back where you left off. Windows stores the contents of your RAM in the file C: hiberfil.sys. To save space on the hard disk, you can completely displayRemove the disk from hibernation. Usually the file is deleted.
- Disable System Restore. If reducing the space used by System Restore isn’t enough for you, anyone can turn off System Restore completely. Often times, you are out of luck if you have to use System Restore to restore your system to its previous state. So be careful.

Does Windows have a Disk Cleanup tool?
In the search box on the taskbar, type disk cleanup and select Disk cleanup from the list of results. Select the disc you want to wash, then click OK. In the Files to Delete section, select the file types you want to delete.
